Greats and Grands day

Last week we had our Greats and Grands day. We wrote poems for our grandparents. Here is my poem about why my grandparents are so special.

Here is my basic facts Test for term 3. I got 29 out of 60. I am good at tens that add to 100. I need to work on Doubles Halves to 20.

Save the earth

We have been learning how to use thinglink. Here is my thinglink on rubbish.

Kauri tree

First we wrote our name.  Next we drew the clouds.  Then we dyed the background blue.                    Then we finger painted our tree trunk.  Then we ripped the pieces of paper that were painted green.

 Then we finger painted the base of the tree with small ferns and trees.  Then we did our slogans.

Animal Town

This week we have used another picture as motivation for our writing. We had a story starter and then we had to carry on the story.

What I like about my writing is that the picture helps me to write.

I need to improve on adding more detail to my story.

The Animal Town

The meerkats missed the  ride .Then the meerkats had to walk all the way to the airport to go
to Africa .But when they got to Africa they just fell asleep.  
The meerkats saw a house but there was a sign saying no animals allowed.
The meerkats didn't want to go in because there was a trap.It’s a water and spikes trap.
The spikes are harder than you ever  imagined.

Hot air balloon race Writing

This week we have used a picture as motivation for our writing. We had a story starter and then we had to carry on the story. What I like about my writing is that i could use the picture to help me write my story. I need to get faster at writing my stories. We also made a google draw showing the things that we would take with us in our hot air balloon.

Hot air balloon race

I saw so many trees getting smaller because I was going up
and up and up .I was the driver of the hot air balloon.I had to
Steer with two ropes to  Australia . All of the other hot air
balloons were behind me. I had four friends in the hot air
balloon. Then I crashed .My friends were still alive but one
 died ,now there were 3 left alive.There was one first aid kit
left. I was stuck because my hot air balloon got burnt by the
fire . Then I took the plane back to New Zealand.

Pou

As part of our writing programme we have been doing environmental writing. We had to sketch an object and as we were sketching we wrote down thoughts that we had. Then we wrote our thoughts down  as a poem. We cut out the sketch and added this to our writing.

ASB Getwise

On Wednesday we had Marlon from ASB Get wise talking to us about saving our money,

spending money on needs not wants and using invisible money ie eftpos. I have made a google draw
to show what I have learnt. I liked learning about money.

Mother's Day Writing

This week in Writing we wrote about how special our mums are. Here is my published writing about my wonderful mum. Happy Mother’s Day!!!

ANZAC Day Writing

This week we have been learning about ANZAC day. We had to write a postcard and a poem here is my poem.

Picasso art

We have been working on using different art techniques to draw our faces. We have used sketching
pencils to sketch our faces, making sure we made our facial features an accurate shape, size and
putting them in the correct places.

We learnt about Picasso’s style and made our own funky Picasso portraits.

Swimming

We have been working towards becoming a confident swimmer by learning how to be a safe swimmer. We learnt that we should always swim with an adult and to always wear a life jacket when we are on a boat. At our swimming lessons we have learnt how to float, kick, glide and use rainbow arms and we are still learning to breathe correctly.

Garden to table

I love garden to table because I get  to eat nice fresh  food.
