The tree goes into hibernation, but It can't because it needs to store the leftover glucose so that it can go to sleep. so the tree stops giving the leaves food and water (by turning off the connection line to give it food and water) to survive and then they simply dies. then the leaf's drys up and falls, when all the leaves fall from the tree.The tree can go to sleep, until spring.
